If you cut corners and don't read and apply as instructed too(I am sure the Thule system will have this problem also), then the idiot that puts it on deserves scratches, stolen, or damaged goods and or equipment. I had posted a review a few weeks ago in which I complained that the vinyl sleeves on my seven year-old Yakima crossbars had split from end-to-end on both bars. However, since then, I contacted Yakima and their response was outstanding. They simply asked me to email pictures of the bars to them. I have Yakima's largest and best carrier box mounted on the bars and I didn't even remove the box. I just took pictures of the end of the bars. Yakima didn't even ask me for proof of purchase or ask me now long I had had the bars. Within 36 hours, a new set were delivered to my door! That is outstanding customer service!I believe the sleeves on the old set were made from a bad batch of vinyl that could not expand and contract properly. In other words, they were too brittle. I say that because I have had a set of Yakima crossbars mounted on my other car for about 20 years and the sleeves are still in great shape on those. I'm... Read more |
