Saddles are so subjectively personal and it is important to experiment to find ones own "perfect" fit. I have done this with many quality saddles over the years, eventually finding that vintage Regals match my sit bones best. Locating a vintage Regal is not always an option however and the current contemporary version, while not precisely the same construction and design, is a damn close option. I currently have three vintage Regals and this one new Regal on bikes that I ride with regularity, generally for longer distances. They are moderately light weight - but not a racing "ass hatchet" - and provide good support without the movement and "Cush" one gets from gel saddle tops. The only other saddle I use that is in the same "fit" is the Brooks B17... And, of course, that is really a completely different and much heavier saddle. |
