I just wanted to thank you for making the best bike shorts I ever had! I got the women's gel padded touring shorts in the mail this week and tried them out on a 46 mile ride today. They were fantastic! I like everything about them! The grippers in the hem didn't cut into my leg or hurt, but the legs stayed put and didn't creep up. I love the adjustable drawstring waist (thank you!!!) and the way the shorts come up high and give good coverage in the back. I love your idea about putting the mesh pockets in the leg. I didn't ride with stuff in the pockets, but while I was loading and unloading my bike, I found I kept stuffing things in there and it was very handy. The pad was great, it didn't bunch up and seemed to be wicking moisture away, it was comfortable the whole time even though it was an 80 degree day.
