The sensor seems very responsive and was easy to set up.On the watch, I had to: - Start a run - Choose Options --> New Sensor The watch found the heart rate monitor almost immediately and worked flawlessly from then on. If you have two or more nike+ systems and you are trying to set them up, you may get a "too many sensors" message from the watch, and may need to distance the woud-be pairs of watches and monitors from one another while pairing. However, once paired, the watches will talk to their respective sensors without any evidence of interference. I believe this is because these sensors are "coded" to prevent cross-talk between nearby transmitters and receivers. The strap is reasonably comfortable and I'm getting used to it quickly. I went on to the internet and found out that the fault lies in a manufacting defect for a series or polar transmitters. The starting serial numbers are listed and mine happens to be on of them. This was what Nike posted to one of the affected customers: "Can you verify the if the serial number on your Polar WearLink+ starts with one of the following combinations: C131-C135, C139, C141, C143, C145, C147, and C151.
